STRATEGIC ACTION PLAN
Unmatched industrial prowess
By building on its staff members’ expertise and quality of its industrial capabilities, the Group has total command of the ship and combat system throughout its entire life cycle, from design engineering to through-life support (TLS). —
An inspiring Progress Plan
The Group embarked upon a three-year plan to optimise its manufacturing performance and competitivity and create greater room to manoeuvre, with the aim of increasing investments in research and development, its manufacturing capacity and growth policy. Totally driven by operational priorities, it covers six fields: in-depth improvement of programme execution; establishing a manufacturable and profitable range of products; expanding the role of on-site management; simplifying and modernising processes and their associated tools; reducing cost structure; listening to staff members and making them key players in our activity. The overall objective being to generate between €150 million and €200 million a year of savings and gains in competitivity.
A wide range of products and services
DCNS is one of the world’s few shipbuilders offering a comprehensive range of vessels – from patrol boats to submarines and aircraft carriers – backed by services – training and consultancy, TLS, fully integrated logistic support, infrastructure and more. —
Staff member commitment
Every day, DCNS’ 12,953 staff members apply their outstanding expertise and enthusiasm for their work to satisfy our clients’ needs and invent new solutions that guarantee our products’ technological superiority. —
OUR VISION FOR 2025
DCNS has set itself the target of reaching an income of €5 billion within the next ten years, 50% of it on international markets and 25% in marine renewable energies – with profitability in excess of 7%. This profitable growth will be founded on an innovative and competitive range of products and services, directly reflecting navies’ needs. On the international stage, DCNS will be building its growth on a network of establishments located as close as possible to its major clients. In Europe, the Group is ready to play an active role in any forthcoming consolidation of the sector. In France, it will be increasing investments and its manufacturing prowess to provide the French Navy with increasingly efficient products and services to underpin national sovereignty and operational superiority.
Innovation, our core driving force
DCNS invests heavily in R&D (almost 10% of the Group’s income in 2015), creating high-technology products for navies, among the best performing on the market, at competitive prices.
